Around 1900, a group of diverse artists including Heinrich Vogeler, Otto Modersohn, Fritz Mackensen, the sculptress Clara Westhoff-Rilke, her husband, the famous poet Rainer Maria Rilke, and Paula Modersohn-Becker, one of Germany’s most important woman painters, settled in the small villages of Worpswede and Fischerhude, near Bremen. During this tour you will visit the sites where they painted, learn more about them through their biographies and see where and how they lived.
